*PROBLEM**

I'm on OSX 10.8.4. I followed all steps and when complete

• Many images are rotated wrong (at original rotation?)
• Maybe other changes are lost (not sure)
• Video thumbnails exist, but no videos.

Is this broken now? If so, you probably already know that on the showcase site…

• No matter which translation is selected for /start, the content from both the Japanese and English versions shows up, and all three languages are listed as having translations available.

I reproduced similar behavior on my site, where I made the pages in the order: en nd fr. And now, the content is: fr en. I would like to use this solution if it works.

if the former, this is exactly what the Nazis in all their communistic glory were supposedly doing, trying to create a world where everything was completely equal (or at least in name), but we all saw what happened there, no?

I've been trying to adapt your work into a PHP-based parser and found that this won't work in the parser:

I am a new Mac user, have a Macbook Pro with lion. Using Apple mail, but I don't seem to be able to change the background colour of the message header. Can you advise please ?

The “Not yet compatible” column means that either “is planned to work in future” or “currently doesn't meet my standards of functional behaviour, and is planned to work in future”.

Curiosity has gotten the better of me, what are you using it for?

Sometimes there is a 1-2 day break where no one uses it, other days it's used by several people at once.

Assuming that some people have the same OS/Java configuration … e.g. most Mac users would be running either 10.6 or 10.7 and likely have the same Java version too … it is impossible for me to distinguish between them because I have not included any identifiable information in the stats (to respect privacy).

Going by that… I'm guessing that 10 is a solid number when looking at the "core" list of users. There are occasionally others that try it too.

There are many more watchers on the website than that, so perhaps that estimate is a bit low :)

In the future I intend to find some way to count downloads of each version. That'll give me a more reliable number to go on.

Knowing that someone appreciates my work is what encourages me to continue working on it.

Someone? I'm pretty sure at least tens of people use STE!

Anyway, at the time, the Wikidot API only had reading privileges, and was only compatible with the Python programming language.

Just a quick correction: the XML-RPC protocol has always been open to all languages, and because the Wikidot API has always used this protocol, that means any language could access it.

Back when the API was first released, the only official examples provided by Wikidot were written in Python. For this reason I mistakenly thought that Python was required, as it seems you have done here. Later I found out that was not the case. It was just that no-one had written a library for the Wikidot API yet in any other language! :)

P.S. Next version of STE (v3.50) is very likely to include the ability to send watching notifications when you save a page, making it a bit more useful for blogs like yours. It hasn't been implemented yet, but I have every intention to add that feature ASAP.

I did remove my Windows installation from my Mac, only because I don't have enough hard drive space to support 2 operating systems. But when I was using it, I had no problems with performance — and my computer's 2 1/2 years old now!

Mind you, that was running Vista. Perhaps there are some driver issues with Windows 7 on your MacBook?

I'm also extremely glad that HyperDock for Mac exists. It adds so many essential features that Windows 7 has and I can't do without - making my Mac much easier to use.

At the moment I use Windows for .NET programming mostly. I've found that I need to keep it on a separate computer though, because running Windows on a Mac using Bootcamp sucks - badly. Performance is really, really bad.

However, my Mac is used for almost everything else because of the extremely long battery life.

The calendar application (iCal) is pretty useful.

Have been meaning to write a blog post like this one, but need to sit down and start thinking about the pro's and con's of each before I do that. I've been using the MacBook for about a month now and still haven't thought too much about the differences between this and Windows.

Probably the most stand-out improvement of my MacBook is the battery life. To get the same 10 hours on a Windows laptop I'd have to buy a new battery - it'd be very rare to find one that lasts that long in a computer you just bought.

Though MacBook falls down compared to Windows in many ways as well. The UI - despite it being one of Mac's "best" advertised features - does lack in some respects. If I hadn't bought the HyperDock application I'd be nowhere near as happy with my MacBook as I am today. But that kind of functionality should have come built-in to the OS, just like it is in Windows Vista & 7.

It just struck me that for a Wikidot-to-HTML converter, you are not showing the HTML code!

Well… yes and no.

I made a Wikidot to HTML converting function… the function itself returns HTML code only. My program above simply injects the returned HTML inside a div block.

As well as rendering it like you are now, perhaps you should also show the generated HTML code as well (in a code block)?

The main reason I would suspect for someone to look at this Wikidot-to-HTML converter is because they want to enter some Wikidot code and get given HTML code in return. And this page doesn't really do that at the moment.

All of my coding is 100% my own. When it came to the InterWiki Syntax, however, the documentation only lists “examples”. The list of examples did not appear to be exhaustive of the InterWiki Syntax, so I turned to the Open Source version for clues.

Interestingly enough, the list of examples was exhaustive. Well, except for one: the Polish Wikipedia. It is undocumented, and it uses two alternative syntaxes:

Whilst I would absolutely love to work for Wikidot.com, I don't think I am qualified enough for it. But I'm flattered all the same :D

Let me know if you have any changes to suggest to how the CCP works … I'm going to set up the live template first, then activate the NewPage module.

As I discussed with you earlier via PM, this would be perfect for me to use in STE (allowing offline preview to be implemented faster, and saving me time writing the parser myself).

Your copyright guidelines state that as well as referencing you as the original author of a derivative work, I should also link back to the original page. I was originally thinking about doing this:

But … would you be happy to instead be added as a developer, with it mentioned that you basically wrote 90% of the parser for offline previews, but no link to here?

I feel that doing so would give you greater recognition, and basically implies that if you decide to update this parser, you can send me a copy of the code for me to update STE as well. You'd essentially be in charge of development for the parser in STE.

The link in your "Mail Reply Header" no longer works. Do you remember what the fix was? If you do, can you PLEASE email it to me?
